What hypocrisy! This outrage over newspaper advertisements sponsored by the so-called “Vaughan Working Families’” targeting teacher unions is hilarious.
Sam Hammond, the head of the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO), commented on Twitter: “Wow! The Vaughan ‘Working” Families’ have some deep pockets when you consider it costs between $50-$80,000 for these 2 one-day ads, not to mention the PR firm costs to develop the ads!”
He knows all about deep pockets and the price of ads since teacher unions were major forces behind another shadowy Working Families group which inserted itself as a third-party advertiser into all provincial elections from 2003-14. And, they frequently run their own media campaigns to explain their strike positions.
That $80,000 is chickenfeed compared to the money unions pumped into elections under the other Working Families banner.
